Massage treatment: 60 minute session

Sports Massage focuses on realigning deeper layers of muscles and connective tissue, such as tendons and ligaments.

Deep tissue techniques are effective at reducing chronic muscle pain, as well as treating commonly tight areas like necks and shoulders, low-back aches and leg muscles. It is also beneficial for constantly tired, aching muscles, helping to relieve the build-up of toxins, particularly lactic acid affecting  your body.

Holistic Massage combines the skilful application of various techniques with a sensitivity and flow that creates a tailored framework for each treatment. Regular treatments can be beneficial in many respects:

Assisting blood flow, relieving stress, improving joint mobility and nerve function whilst working well alongside other therapies such as Osteopathy, Medicine, Chiropractic, Physiotherapy and Homeopathy.

Everyone responds differently to therapeutic touch, so each individual will have his or her own take on what effects massage can have. Intention determines the effects of the massage; uplifting and energising, or grounding and releasing. Sometimes it can be specific to an injury or problem-area, or it could be a full body massage. It depends on how you are feeling in yourself at the time of the treatment.

Trigger Point Therapy is like acupuncture without the needles. By focussing sustained pressure on Trigger Points (or Acupoints), the body’s fascial network is stimulated to unlock patterns of tension that are held in place by unsuitable postures.

When there is congestion, and often also dehydration, cellular exchange cannot take place; muscles do not get the fuel they need, and do not have the waste products of respiration removed, as the blood cells cannot get through effectively. Trigger Point Therapy aims to contact these fibres, loosening them in order to ease congestion and make cellular exchange function optimally.
